- So I was watching my weekly bitchy show rite~
and tis gal (on ANTM) mentioned bout her having had a "circumcision"
den she went on explaining what it was!
basically... what she went through was...
(tis is hard... so cover ur ears...)
I quote:
"... the procedure involves extensive tissue removal of the external genitalia, including all of the labia minora and the inside of the labia majora. The labia majora are then held together using thorns or stitching."

what astounds mi more was, again i quote
"Generally, a practitioner recognized as having the necessary skill carries out this procedure, and a local anesthetic is used. However, when carried out "in the bush," infibulation is often performed by an elderly matron or midwife of the village, with no anesthesia used."

no wonder she said that girls die from it...
there're so many different customs that're practiced around the world that we might not be aware of...
we may feel that our life is bad... or that we've been through so many bad things
that our life sucks...
but i guess we'll never know if what we've been through is really that bad
or finally see that we're really fortunate...
until we see for ourselves, people who're living in the same period as us, same age as us
just living in a different part of the world
seeing or experiencing what they are or have been going through..
then we'll finally see clearly that what we've been through is really not that much
as compared to them...
honestly?
we complain too bloody much!!!
